The Daily Plays

The Daily Plays is our regular political theatre event made with, for and about people who think theatre is not for them.

Each event offers it’s audience a good night out for less than the price of a cinema ticket and a communal space to discuss the things affecting their world today.

We collaborate with Theatre Makers who have a connection to the region we are in and, together, stage unconventional performances that address today’s local issues.

To make the work we give five Theatre Makers a news publication each and ask them to engage with a story that resonates with the region. Over the course of a week, five provocative short performances are created through a variety of processes. They are presented together at our Partner Theatre at the end of the week, followed by an audience discussion.
